OVERNIGHT SNOWMASS CREEK/ SNOWMASS LAKE/ LOST REMUDA

Guests will mount up at the Snowmass Creek trailhead for this camping trip of a lifetime.  After a couple hours in the saddle, riders will dismount for a lunch break surrounded by wilderness and beauty.  After lunch we continue the ride through untouched landscape with magnificent views.  You will arrive at our camp around four in the afternoon.  The cowboys will take care of the horses while guests go fishing, play horseshoes, take a small hike or just relax until dinner. After dinner guest can enjoy a campfire under the stars with all the s’mores.  Day two will start with a big breakfast to get you ready for a great day.  A short ride takes you up to the unbelievably beautiful Snowmass Lake, the headwaters of Snowmass Creek.  If your group is the here to fish we can leave very early in the morning to be at Snowmass lake for the day, fishing or just relaxing is the call for the day before saddling up and riding back to civilization.  You will be back at the trailhead before dinnertime. OVERNIGHT WEST SNOWMASS CREEK

From the trailhead, you follow Snowmass Creek upstream, cross the creek and head up West Snowmass Creek. Our camp is located at the base of Clarks Peak and Mt Daly. Regarded by many as one of the most beautiful places you will ever camp. After arriving at the camp you will have an hour or two to relax, wash up, or play a game of horseshoes before your gourmet dinner is served. Then sit around the campfire eating s’mores, tell stories and enjoy the night sounds of the great outdoors. In the morning, after a cowboy breakfast, the more motivated may want to take the one and a half to two-hour hike to Moon Lake, a place of unsurpassed by beauty.

Moon Lake sits in a bowl surrounded by spectacular snow capped peaks. This is a wonderful place to pull out the camera and snap photos of unforgettable scenery. We suggest that if you are interested in hiking to Moon Lake that you consider staying an additional night in the high country. If you do chose to stay two nights, you will get the full experience of Moon Lake, have the time to hike around it, fish, take photos and absorb the untouched beauty. The decent back to the trailhead will start after lunch and have you back home in time for dinner.

OVERNIGHT WILLOW LAKE

The Willow Creek area is limited by the Forest Service to a minimum of horseback trips into this pristine valley.  Therefore, all camping takes place in sites that are not permanent, and must be taken down when we leave.  Because this makes these trips more technical, we recommend a minimum of two nights.  This trip winds up East Snowmass Creek area and eventually ends at Willow Lake.  From there we have many different options available to you depending on the length of your trip.

PACKING GEAR IN & OUT

LOST REMUDA * SNOWMASS LAKE * WILLOW LAKE * MOON LAKE * NICKELSON CREEK * DAILY BASIN

This is a key service for many people. We will bring your gear in and out of the backcountry so you don’t have to. This allows people to explore the Rocky Mountains without having to lug their gear around. Many groups use this service so they can bring a lot of gear and gourmet food and drinks into the high country.

Lost Remuda will be an additional $100 because it is almost impossible to get in and out in one day.
PLEASE NOTE: One cowboy can only pull three mules at a time. If there are 3 or more pack/ riding animals the price will be raised  $2 for an additional cowboy. For instance if there is 3 pack animals and 2 riding horses you will need another cowboy. One person cannot bring in or out more than four animals including his own.

**This is a great service for camping in style.  You bring us your tents, food, or any gear you would not like to carry and we bring it into the mountains on pack animals. This service makes it possible for people to bring all the extra food, drinks, and gear they couldn’t carry or for some just don’t want to carry. An experienced Cowboy will meet you in one of the Snowmass Creeks Parking lots the day of your departure and obtain everything you would like to be brought up to camp. He will load the mules and make a specific meeting or drop off sight.  There is nothing like a great day hike far into the back country using your small day pack and then being able to change in to warm clothes and eat a nice dinner of steak and wine for dinner, while knowing your pancake breakfast will await you in the morning.

Packing Gear In: $350 Packing Gear Out: $350
Includes: 1 Cowboy & 1 Pack Mule
Extra animals to Pack/ Ride $110

FISHING AND GUIDED TRIPS

Our guided fishing trips are one of the best-kept secrets about the Snowmass Creeks. Throughout the ride up the spectacular Valley, there are numerous beaver ponds, creeks, and lakes that your guide will allow you to explore and fish. The great thing about high mountain fishing is the lack of fishermen and plentiful amounts of fish. In the morning and evening it looks like it is raining on Snowmass Lake because so many fish are jumping.
